Common questions
- How long does a patio take?
- A straightforward patio is usually three to five days once the old surface is out. Bigger areas, steps or a lot of levelling take longer. The base is the part that decides whether it is still flat in ten years, so we do not rush it.
- Can you tile over existing tiles?
- Sometimes, but more often it is better to take the old ones off. Tiling over tiles raises the floor, which can cause trouble at doors. It also only works if everything underneath is completely sound. We will look and tell you which applies in your room.
- Why does shower grout go mouldy?
- Usually it comes down to how the area was prepared and how well the room is ventilated. We waterproof properly behind the tiles and use the right grout and silicone for a wet area, which makes a real difference to how it still looks in a few years.
- Can you match tiles I already have?
- If you have spares we can work with them. Where the tile has been discontinued we will be straight with you about how close a match is realistic before you commit to a repair rather than a retile.
- Do you cover my area?
