Bathroom Renovations in Kildare

A lot of Kildare bathrooms reach us at the same point in their life. Houses built through the commuter boom around Naas, Newbridge, Celbridge and Maynooth are twenty or twenty five years old now. The original builder spec suite has done its time. The layout usually still works. It is the fittings, the tiling and the tired grout that let the room down.
The upside of newer housing is that the work is far more predictable. Stud walls, plastic pipework and a short run to the stack mean fewer surprises once we open up. There is normally a driveway for a skip and space to set up, so the house stays liveable while we work. Plenty of these homes have a main bathroom, an ensuite and a downstairs WC, which changes how we plan the job. It is the same bathroom renovation service we run throughout Kildare, often alongside fresh painting once the room is back together. New wall and floor tiling is part of nearly every one of them.

Common questions in Kildare
- Our bathroom is the original from when the estate was built. Is it worth replacing?
- Almost always. A twenty year old suite is often still working, but the sealant, the grout and the waste connections are at the end of their life. Slow leaks behind a bath are common at that age. Replacing before a leak does damage to the floor below costs a great deal less than repairing afterwards.
- Can you do the main bathroom and the ensuite together?
- Yes. It usually works out cheaper than two separate visits. Same setup, same deliveries and one round of making good at the end. We stagger the two so there is always a working bathroom in the house while we go.
- We are on a septic tank. Does that change anything?
- It affects what goes down the drain more than the fit itself. We will flag anything that is hard on a septic system. If you are adding a bathroom rather than replacing one it is worth checking your tank has the capacity before we start rather than after.
- How long does it take on a typical estate house?
- Two to three weeks for a full bathroom. Newer builds tend to run at the quicker end of that, because the pipework and the layout rarely throw up anything unexpected once the tiles are off.
